When I was younger, I never realized how lucky I was to get a solid 8 hours of sleep. You see, I suffer from insomnia caused by anxiety. While many of my friends have tried to cure me by telling me to have a few drinks before bed or try some Valarian Root, it is much more complex than that.
Anxiety caused insomnia is not a disease whereby you should treat the symptoms, you need to determine what the root cause is to truly cure yourself.
What causes my anxiety? Much like everyone else, it is a combination of things…
- Work schedule
- Father being in the hospital
- Not being able to spend enough time with my children
After talking with my therapist and letting her know that I was completely against any drugs, she recommended that I write my thoughts down in a journal at the end of the day and create a specific plan, if I can, to conquer them the next day. While I thought her idea was good, I wanted to take it to the next step, which is why I started this blog.
This blog is what keeps me calm when I am up at 1, 2, or even 3 o’clock in the morning. In this blog you will learn of all my wacky, crazy, and fun adventures with my family. Hopefully you will be able to learn from my posts too.
